FAQ: Transitioning to Servite

When is my child’s first day at Servite?
The first day for all new students in Years 7-12 is Wednesday 1 February 2017. Current Year 11 and Year 12 students will also begin on this day. All other students will begin on Thursday 2 February.

What happens on the first day?
For Years 7, 11 and 12 students, the first day is a full day from 8.40am to 3.20pm and for Year 8, 9 and 10 students, the first day is from 8.40am to 12pm. All students are to wear their College Summer Uniform. Students will not need all of their books, but basic stationery is required. New students will begin their first day by meeting in the College Auditorium, then spend the rest of the morning with their Homeroom Teacher and Student Leaders where they will be given timetables, Student Handbooks, locks and allocated lockers etc. After recess, Year 7, 11 and 12 students will follow a modified timetable to allow students to meet their subject teachers and to begin to find their way around the school.

Are parents involved in the first day?

Yes! From 8.00am on Wednesday 1 February, all parents of newly commencing students are warmly invited to our Pop Up Coffee Bar at St Juliana Square.

When can I meet other parents?
Meet on the Green  –  3.30pm Thursday 2 February 2017 
Join us for a Welcome Afternoon Tea at St Juliana Square from 3.30pm on Thursday 2 February. Your child will then take you to their Homeroom where you will have an opportunity to meet their Homeroom Teacher. Meeting with Homeroom Teachers is strongly encouraged as they will have daily contact with your child from Year 7 all the way through to Year 12 and are also a key point of contact with the College.

Where can I buy uniforms?
To purchase your child’s uniform, please come along to our Uniform Shop, indicated on this map. More information about the Uniform Shop can be found on the 2017 Uniform Price List, or by contacting our Uniform Shop directly on (08) 9208 0946 or uniform@servite.wa.edu.au.

When can I buy uniforms?
The Uniform Shop will be closed for the Christmas and New Year holidays from Monday 12 December 2016, and will reopen on Monday 23 January 2017.
Regular opening hours are:
• Monday 8.00am – 1.30pm
• Tuesday 1.00pm – 4.30pm
• Wednesday 8.00am – 11.30am

The College Uniform Shop will open especially for Year 7 families and all new students on the following days:
• Monday 12 December 9.00am to 3.00pm – Boys
• Tuesday 13 December 9.00am to 3.00pm – Girls
• Wednesday 14 December 9.00am to 3.00pm – Boys and Girls

How do I book a uniform fitting?
Bookings for uniform fittings are are coordinated via the Servite College Parent Teacher Online system, available here.  Detailed instructions on using Parent Teacher Online are available here (new users are required to obtain a PIN and password).

Where can I find my child’s booklist?
Booklists for Year 7 students are available here. Booklists for Years 8-12 are available on the Downloads page.

Do I need to purchase all booklist items?
Year 7 students will be taking part in all subjects during the course of the year. Items for all of the subjects on the booklist will need to be purchased. In upper school, only the items for the subjects the student will be studying are required. While all textbooks, e-texts and specialised stationery (for Art, Maths etc.) must be purchased, regular stationery will not need to be re-purchased if your child already has them from previous years.
